Your Music Needs to Be Online

There is definitely an old school and a new school when it comes to the music industry. The old school is an important foundation for today’s music scene: artists get their work out into the world through live performance, working with agents to make connections and eventually get signed to a label and supported by a marketing team. All this is still happening and still important, but one reason this method is beginning to get outdated is that it often relies on pre-digital customer behavior. Shows and strategic placement in record stores will drive CD sales, says the old school.
