Writing in Poverty

Are the best writers poor? That’s a tricky question. Often poor people don’t have access to education, which would imply difficulty with grammar, spelling and punctuation as well as a general a lack of literary knowledge. But what about innate desire to delve into the written word and natural talent for reflecting on literature?
